  60.       Epson provides a free (LGPL) driver for this printer. With this
  61.       the printer should work to its full extent.<p>
  62.  
  63.       Unfortunately, Epson's "eplaser" driver (or
  64.       perhaps the printer's firmware) is somewhat buggy. It
  65.       prints most documents, but images converted to PostScript with
  66.       "convert" or by the built-in filters of CUPS leads
  67.       often to incorrect printouts (stretched by a factor of 3 or 4 in
  68.       horizontal direction). So it is recommended to use this printer
  69.       in PostScript mode, uncompressed PPD files are on the CD
  70.       delivered with the PostScript module, use the PPD files for
  71.       Windows NT 4.0, they should work with all spoolers/applications
  72.       under free OS.<p>

  74.       Further tests with the "pxlmono" driver did not show
  75.       this problem. The printer works perfectly in 1200 dpi with this
  76.       driver, only full-page photos take very long to be
  77.       rendered.<p>
